Yes, this gun safe is small. Yes, it’s light enough that two burglars could pick it up and heft it out of your house (with a lot of struggling). Yes, it’s probably not fireproof like it says it is. However, for someone who lives in a small apartment with children, this safe is perfect. It easily fits in the main bedroom and holds all of my valuables. It keeps the kiddos out of the safe and would deter thieves from taking my valuables. It’s also small and light enough that moving it to another apartment wouldn’t be an impossible task.

For a gun case storage it works absolutely fine. The things that I question are the specs like for example the fire rating. The gun case has thin sheet metal for its fabrication and cannot understand how any sort of fireproofing is expected out of this construction. It also is not extremely heavy as I was able to move the whole safe by myself. For the price it’s pretty much what you would expect. It’s a good place to store your weapons and keep them away from people you do not want to have access to them. I wouldn’t expect this to be a super anti-theft or fireproof solution. It will do fine just for that keeping weapons out of reach from those you do not want to. The biometrics and pin feature work just fine and it has a physical key as a backup in case anything goes wrong. The item is fine as long as you understand its purpose and possible limitations.

So, this safe (and others like it) are great entry level safes, great for keeping kiddo’s away from the danger sticks. They are also very good for holding documents with important info that you wouldn’t want just anyone getting hold of. That all said, I would highly recommend bolting this safe (or any like this or smaller) in place. While this isn’t exactly light, and certainly not if you have it filled with firearms and ammo, it is still light enough for two people to cart it away in a vehicle and open it at their leisure. Other than all that, this safe is great, I love it. It has room for up to 7 rifles (more if you don’t care about jamming them in there), several pistols, and it has a second lock box inside for documents, etc. Great entry-level safe, definitely recommend.

Compared to other larger fireproof safes this one definitely isn’t as heavy duty. With that being said, I think it would definitely prevent someone from gaining access without having a good amount of time to force their way in. I don’t trust the fireproof rating, so I definitely wouldn’t use this safe for important documents or other expensive valuables. I base this on the fact the sides are just a thin metal with no insulation or reinforcement. If there was a house fire, I wouldn’t be surprised if many things inside were cooked. The safe arrives with instructions on everything other than how to initially open the safe. At first, I thought there would be a key hole behind the rubber padding on the handle that seemed like it should pull out to access. As I did this I found it was just an adhesive to cover some hole that must have been necessary in the design. Now I had to glue this back on which was disappointing since I just got it. To get access there is a silver panel on the front that you have to unscrew to show access to what looks like a simple skeleton key area. Another reason I wouldn’t trust anything too valuable in the safe. Once it was unlocked you can install batteries and the lock mechanism works pretty well. The safe did have a very strong strange smell upon first opening also but hopefully that will dissipate with leaving it open for a few days. I wish you could give half stars on the reviews because I would be more comfortable with a 3.5 star rating. Overall, the safe is an ok value for the money and does provide quick access to its contents. If that is the goal this will fit your needs very well. If you are looking for something that is truly fireproof and very difficult to force your way in, I would plan on spending quite a bit more money on something heavier duty.

Nice lower-end gun safe for small spaces. Thumbprint lock works great and was easy to set up for multiple users in the house. Small thumbprint allowed me to put it in an easy-to-access spot that doesn’t interfere with any other furniture in the home. Able to hold 5 rifles with accessories and magazines ok. Not much room for more than that down low. Space up top for a handful of pistols or some ammo.

This is indeed a gun safe. It is capable of keeping the items locked inside out of the hands of unauthorized people. It should hold up to a pry bar well enough to deter all but the most dedicated thieves. They claim it is fireproof but give you no information on how it was tested. I will be assuming it is not fire rated at all. The door only opens to 90 degrees which makes accessing some areas inside a little difficult. The fingerprint reader and keypad work as they should. The instructions for programming are pretty vague but you will figure it out. If I had paid the $359 price tag I would be looking for a refund. This is better than a lockable gun cabinet, but in my opinion overpriced by at least $100. At a $200 price point, I would rate it 5 stars. At $359 I was generous with the 4 stars, but the quality is better than a 3-star rating.
