Excellent deal for this sturdy safe. It also comes with an electronic combination lock which works great, plus an external battery case and a set of emergency keys. Comes with a small LED light that lets you see inside in the dark when you open the door. Mounting holes in the back and bottom so you can bolt it to the wall or floor with supplied bolts. Includes a waterproof & fireproof bag. I believe I made a great investment by purchasing this safe.

Title: Heed the negative reviews!

I rarely review my Amazon purchases but this product needs to be reviewed. Pay attention to the negative reviews. I think if/when this product is working, it is likely five stars. But if/when it doesn’t, you’re very quickly in a one-star bind. The product worked just fine for two months with somewhat regular (weekly) use. I had a few valuables, extra cash, watches, and documents in the safe. Leaving for an international trip, I went to the safe to retrieve my passport, entered my combination as normal, but the keypad went black and stopped beeping after pressing the first two numbers of my four-digit code. I thought this was weird. So, I waited a few seconds and started over; no response or sounds from the keypad at all this time when pressed. I waited a few more minutes, came back and tried again. This time, the keypad worked, made the proper beep sound with each key pressed, but after correctly entering my combination, it gave the error beeps as if I had entered the wrong code. Wash, rinse, repeat for several attempts with the same result, error beeps and eventually alarm beeps as if I entered the wrong code. My combination never worked again. The safe became impossible to open and cost me a trip to a locksmith shop and 50 bucks to get it open. Total garbage. Had I tried to grab my passport right before leaving for the airport, I would have missed my trip altogether. Thankfully, this happened the day before travel, but as I said- when this thing doesn’t work, it’s too late and you’re screwed. Once it was opened, I tested all the batteries, and they were all still full/good. So, it wasn’t a battery issue, but rather a crap product issue. Just beware.

The safe came locked and there were no keys, instructions, or any power to the digital lock. It’s possible all that was inside the safe but I couldn’t get to it without damaging the safe. The seller claims 24-hour support but I couldn’t find any information on how to get that support. I tried to use Amazon to connect with the seller and it just sent me to an AI that had no answers and just recommended I return the safe (so pack it back up, print out a label and go to the post office to return). Despite all the claims of fireproof, it is in no way fireproof, resistant, or anything like that. It’s a thin steel box that you can see in through the mounting holes. The locking mechanism is made of cheap plastic. I knew based on the price and other reviews it wasn’t going to be fireproof or even all that heavy-duty, but it was a lot cheaper made than I would expect at this price. If it came with everything exactly how I expected I would have given it three stars due to the advertisement of being fireproof and the overall cheapness of the build.
