Overview

When it comes to archery, having reliable equipment can make all the difference. If you’re in search of a sturdy and versatile bow holder, the Recurve Bow Stand Stainless Steel Archery Bow Holder for Longbow Takedown Bow is a strong contender. I’ve had the opportunity to use this bow stand extensively, and I’m excited to share my experience to help fellow archers make informed decisions.

Materials and Build Quality

Constructed from lightweight yet durable stainless steel, this bow stand is built to last. Despite its robust construction, it’s surprisingly light, making it easy to transport. The nylon riser holder at the top ensures your bow’s grip is secure without causing any damage.

Ease of Use

One of its standout features is the quick fold/unfold mechanism. The butterfly nut lock system allows for easy setup and takedown, which means you’ll spend less time fiddling with your equipment and more time focusing on your archery. The legs are designed to be unscrewed and removed, adding an extra layer of convenience for transportation.

Stability

Stability is often a concern with bow stands, but this model delivers impressively. Its solid construction ensures that your bow remains upright, and there’s minimal wobbling once everything is locked into place.

Portability

This bow stand’s portability is enhanced by its space-saving design. Once folded, it takes up very little room, making it an excellent choice for archers who travel frequently or have limited storage space. However, it would have been even better if it came with its own carry bag to protect it during transport.

Ease of Setup

To set it up, simply unfold the legs by loosening the wingnuts at the bottom, swing the legs out, and then tighten the nuts back. This straightforward process makes it incredibly user-friendly even for beginners. I’ve used mine both outdoors and indoors, and it performs well across different environments.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Lightweight yet Durable: Made from stainless steel, ensuring longevity.
  • Quick Fold/Unfold Mechanism: Easy setup and takedown with the butterfly nut lock system.
  • Stable and Solid: Minimal wobbling once properly set up.
  • Portable and Space-Saving: Takes up minimal room when not in use.

Cons:

  • No Carry Bag Included: A dedicated carry bag would have been a nice addition.
  • Legs May Feel Slightly Malleable: Legs show some flexibility when folded but remain stable when set up.

Title: Sturdy, fits my bow perfectly. I wish it came with a bag.
Review:
"I have a bow with the Kinetic Valenz 25" riser. The grip of the bow fits perfectly in this stand. I appreciate how the string fits between the stand and the metal arm that is made for the bowstring. My particular bow balances very well, even without the string being held. The legs unfold by loosening a wingnut at the bottom, and then swinging the legs out past the nut, and then tightening the nut back. Mine did fit well and there was no wobbling. For the price, it would have been nice if it came with its own bag. Most people have an archery bag with all their stuff in it and the edges of the folded-up legs could gouge exposed items in the bag. I use the plastic bag that this stand shipped in. However, a cloth bag would have been nice. I suppose a pair of old soccer socks might work. I have two, one for my bow and one for my daughter’s (same risers). Both seem to be made well and do not wobble. I used them outside in a field. I have not tried them indoors to see if they wobble on a flat surface. I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend money on a bow stand, but it turns out to be a very nice option to be able to just put the bow down in the stand near my feet instead of hanging it on the range hangers that are further away. I wasn’t sure I would appreciate a stand, but having used it, I certainly do. I’ve seen a few archers with taller stands and that seems handy, but this one is low to the ground and in my opinion, more stable that way."

Title: Nice Product for Barebow Archery Bow
Review:
"Bought this for my boys who currently use Traditional Barebow, and it’s a little shorter than I wanted. So far, my kids like it. I wish they have a taller version maybe 4 – 5 inches taller."

Title: Does the Job Well
Review:
"Overall happy with the stand. Smaller than expected but love the compact design for packing. Only improvement I would add is a rubber washer to stop the tiny bit of play in the legs when open and fully tightened. Unfortunately, I cannot do this because the cheap and simple solution to retaining the wingnut was crimping the threads (second photo) on the adjustment bolt."

Title: Good stand but a little less sturdy than we had hoped
Review:
"This stand is very good for the use we need it for but it is a little less sturdy than we had hoped. The legs, when folded up, are a bit more malleable and therefore bend a little but it doesn’t bother the bow when it is opened up. Also, a bag to carry this in would be the icing on the cake because we use it for 3D shoots as well as in the range for practice times. We have to carry it all over the place."

Title: Nice, sturdy rest for the price.
Review:
"Rest is compact and fits in bow case (make sure you sand any sharp edges off… there were a couple). Sturdy and stable. I would recommend this stand. A small bag/case would be nice."

Title: Perfect for my Olympic recurve
Review:
"This stand is perfect to hold my Olympic recurve with all of the accessories. Sometimes I have to pay attention to making sure the bow is straight in the stand so that it does not touch the ground on one side, but it has held my bow safely even with strong winds. Easy to place bow in and to remove."

Review:
"This bow stand is the second one I have bought. The first worked out so well for my son and his competition archery that when I decided to join him, I got the same one for myself as well. It is a great value and works well."
