Review: The material is fairly heavy. But, a safe has thick, heavy, fire-retardant material in the walls and door. Also, the locking mechanism is flimsy. It’s good enough to keep young children out, but I could break into it with a pry bar in less than 5 minutes. It is not fireproof. Fire may not physically touch the contents of the safe, but there is nothing to even slow the transfer of heat to the inside like a normal fireproof safe. As a locker, it is adequate. As a safe, the description is misleading. If you want a gun SAFE, go to a manufacturer of true gun safes. You can’t get the real thing on Amazon. If you want a gun LOCKER, this will do.
