Overview

Choosing the right bowstring is imperative for archers seeking precision, durability, and ease of use. The B-50 Dacron Replacement Recurve Bowstring from Traditional Gear Archery Products promises to meet these needs with its high-quality construction and thoughtful design.

Highlighting Specific Features

Actual String Length in Inches

One standout feature of this bowstring is its measurement approach. The lengths are provided in actual string length in inches, not AMO length or bow length. This can be particularly useful for archers who already know the exact measurement they need.

B-50 Dacron Material

The string is crafted from B-50 Dacron material, which is known for its superior stretch and for being gentler on bow limb tips. This material choice makes the string both durable and user-friendly.

Nylon Serving

The center and end loops are served with #4 nylon serving, ensuring longevity and added protection where the string is most likely to wear out.

In-Depth Insights and Specific Recommendations

The B-50 Dacron bowstring is designed to accommodate bows up to 50 lbs. draw weight, making it versatile for a range of archery needs. Here are some specific observations and recommendations based on my experience with this product:

  • Ease of Installation: Installing the string was straightforward, thanks to the well-sized end loops and clear measurement instructions.
  • Initial Stretch: The B-50 Dacron material does stretch a bit as it breaks in, but this is mentioned in the product description, so it’s not a surprise.
  • Performance: The string provided consistent tension and smooth shooting experience during multiple practice sessions.
  • Durability: Over several months of usage, there were no noticeable signs of fraying or wear, testifying to its premium build quality.

Title: cheap and works fine.
Review: At first I opened the mail and saw the package was unlabeled for length and was all like whaaaa?! But then I measured the string and it was right, so everything went better than expected. Nice new waxed string for the bow. Would buy from again.

Title: Great Purchase.
Review: Came well packaged and in a timely manner. The product itself is of great quality, and I will be purchasing again! The servings are well-made and provided in the string where it connects with the bow and for knocking the arrows.

Title: I bought an old bow at a garage sale for…
Review: I bought an old bow at a garage sale for my kids to play with. The loops are much bigger than I needed as this old bow is only about an inch wide. The string is probably made for a newer and wider bow. To keep the string from slipping, I put it on the bow and tied string around the open loop and tied it shut. It works for what we need it for, but if you need an exact fit, make sure you know what bow you have and if it will handle a big loop or not. I do not think the design is wrong. I think I did not know what I needed when I bought it. Hard to figure out based on the description given.

Title: Quality not top notch (Or bottom, depends on how you string it!).
Review: The 54" string was okay. The 57" was not. Too big a loop on one end than the other. Barely stays on bow. Have to sew loop to fit the notch.

Title: Awesome
Review: Awesome, works great! Wonderful quality. The bowstring is just as well done as an expensive one. I shoot a lot and have seen a lot of strings, but this is so good that I’m buying more for my other bows soon.

Title: Loops not properly sized
Review: The loops on the ends are two different sizes. One barely fits and the other is two sizes too small. Can’t put it on the bow because of this.

Title: Why does no one else sell these? Oh, well. At least they’re still around.
Review: This was a great birthday gift for my dad. Works great. The ordering can be tricky, so you just need to pay attention to which type of length measurement you are looking at. I do have some extra strings in the wrong size because I misread when picking my size.

Q&A Section

Q: How do I measure for a new bowstring?
A: Measure the bowstring that you currently have and round up to the nearest full inch. If your current string is missing, generally, a longbow takes a string approximately 3" shorter than its marked length, and a recurve bow takes a string 4" shorter.
